About the Department

The Department of Health and Prevention is responsible for Malmö city's health-promoting and preventive work according to SoL and HSL. We strengthen the participation of the elderly, combat involuntary loneliness and violence in close relationships, and develop new forms of support and community.

About the Assignment

We are looking for a unit manager for a temporary position of approximately 12 months. You will have a clear strategic and operational leadership responsibility and the opportunity to influence direction, governance, and culture in the unit's continued work.

You will lead six section managers with a focus on strengthening responsibility, collaboration, and clear roles. Your task is to provide the managers with good conditions through clear, coaching, and present leadership.

In the management team, we will shape structures, distribution of responsibilities, and working methods together. You will be an important part of creating a sustainable and functioning management chain.

The structures and working methods of the organization are under development, which may involve changes where you will play a central role in creating stability and development.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Manage goals, finances, personnel, and results.
  • Create good conditions for section managers and employees.
  • Lead, organize, and coordinate the development of the unit.
  • Coach section managers towards clarity, accountability, and common goals.
  • Work with change management.
  • Contribute to a clear work culture and a long-term sustainable direction.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Relevant academic degree.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a manager (at least first-line level).
  • Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, and in documentation.

Meritorious

  • Experience as a manager of other managers.
  • Work experience within SoL and/or HSL operations.
  • Experience collaborating with other public actors or the non-profit sector.
  • Work experience from similar operations.

Personal Qualities

In this role, you need to be secure, stable, and have good self-awareness. You handle challenging situations with calm and focus and find it easy to collaborate and build trust. As a leader, you provide clear direction, create engagement, and follow up to ensure tasks are completed. You communicate clearly and effectively, solve problems together with others, and see the big picture in your decisions and priorities.
